As some may know I just recently did a budget gamer build for my parents.

X2 3800+ AM2
2GB Mushkin PC2 6400
Gigabyte Ga-M61P-S3
EVGA 7600GT

I have had the 3800+ overclocked to 2.4GHz for a while now. And now my parents finally moved it into the basement to escape the indian summer we're getting.

I woke up this morning to check temps and BAM!

26*C!!! idle temp!

Vcore is at 1.392v and multi is locked and the RAM is locked at DDR2 800.

Now this is a below ground basement and we have no central air.

I have noticed some frosty temps on my own computers in my basement bedroom but I've never seen them hit 26!!! Even at stock!!!

EDIT:

Forgot to mention I am using an Arctic Freezer 64 with Arctic Silver Ceramique.

The heatsink itself is cool to the touch. But you can feel the heat radiating off of it.

I must have really gotten it on there right :P

As I am typing I have p2p running and some music and I'm running 28*C maybe spiking up to 33-34*C when surfing the net with music and instant messenger.

When my dad played Far Cry he says he did a check and it was at 43*C with a fair amount of load. So I think I got it cooled well enough.

The Arctic Freezer 64 Pro is still my favorite cooler. I hope they work with future platforms.
