Ok so today i finally chose to turn on my Automatic updates and a crap load of security updates for Windows + Windows XP service pack were Dl/installed. also installed Microsoft office 2007(doubt this makes a difference)
I tried accessing a torrent(actually 2)(well over 200 seeds/300 leechers about for both)and i only got one peer.
Does this have to do with one of the updates my computer received?
All help would be appreciated.

Probably not.
How do you know there were that many seeders? Most torrent sites info is quite old!
Also, a lot of torrent trackers will not use certain clients...

You may have applied a patch to the tcpip.sys driver, to relax the new connection restriction added with XP SP2, the latest batch of updates may have unpatched the driver, if so check and reapply the patch.

Download and run LvLord's TCP/IP patch which allows you to change the maximum amount of half open internet connections from SP2's preset of 10 to a number of your liking. I find that 25 is a pretty good number.

The connection details are not hard to find and not that clever, just annoying, so I ad-blocked your domain.
Damned sense requires a clued in population which can and wants to see past their cage bars, and the many layers of lies, to see the routine evil of the power elites and their puppets. Common sense seems to be an oxymoron.
Knowledge may result in power, but it has to be useful and be used in empowering ways. Much 'knowledge' just wastes time, thought and power, so selective ignorance (spam filters and Ad-block) really can be bliss :-P

Infernoz, what the hell is this? Did my sig really upset you so much you had to rant on and on about it? If your going to post in this thread post something helpful to nugITguy.

Windows updates can be annoying, I recently had to spend a lot of time reinstalling some .Net runtimes and some utility applications, after some recent Windows updates broke them, incidents like this are all too common.
I prefer Windiz Update for Firefox, then at least I can chose which updates to apply and when to risk breaking my PCs, without having to worry about stuck WUS downloads.
<fun>
I get some of my knowledge updates from Falcon Publishing, other books, alternative information sources and P2P, I sometimes get infected by unhelpful memes, but my scepticism meme checker usually roots them out; the interesting thing is that most of the unhelpful memes come from mainstream information sources, including celebrities ;)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sigs with naive platitudes and page wasting gimics, bug me and sometimes cause me to do a lateral thinking, brain fart :)

You realize the windows update stock function allows you to choose which updates to download.

Yes I know, however:
1. You have to use IE for that and I am loath to use that insecure excuse for a browser.
2. I regard windows validation as a flaky insult.
3. IE and WUS are not reliable enough at downloading files and can get stuck on files in a WUS download queue.
4. I don't want those Microsoft services wasting resources and potentially compromising security on my systems, I only have 1.5GB and 2GB RAM in my systems, have the virtual memory file disabled and run some heavy software.
