Hi All,
I have 2 questions if anyone could please answer them for me.
1. Im getting chorus digital mmds(aerial on roof) installed at the weekend and I want to know what is the best box to get so as I can avail of all the channels.
2. My parents have chorus basic installed via cable, but signal ultimately comes from a central mmds receiver in town, what would be the best box for them to get to receive the channels?
Thanks in advance for replies...

As far as I know there are no boxes at present that work on Ch**** MMDS, i.e., Dreambox, Dbox2, Eurovox or Starview.
There is a new Starview box that is in development that has been specifically designed for Ch**** MMDS signals, but it has not been released yet.

Every box with dvb-t tuner is working.
Dream 500-t, dream 600 with dvb-t tuner, dream 7025 with dvb-t tuner.
The tuner at dream 600 and dream 7025 is pluggable.
For technical oriented blokes a usb dvb-t stick for the pc could be a alternative one.

Sure, chorus mmds is using dvb-t and dream 500-t is a dvb-t box.
Precondition is a working mmds aerial or a working connection to a central chorus mmds mast.

Sorry Mgb the confusion lies in the fact that I was talking about DVB-C type boxes, should have added that DVB-T type tuners are compatible.
I am not going to ask any queries relating to usb sticks, BDA drivers and progdvb as I think this has been answered before and all the info is already here.

Hi tw0nk, glic83 and everyone else.
Just wondering how ye got on with the dreambox for ch0ru$ mmds. What model did you end up getting? I'm planning on getting one, but want to make sure it works.
Did anyone try setting it up using an analogue antenna? I would prefer not to upgrade to a digital antenna if possible.

If the DreamBox 500T and 600T allow you to watch all the channels available on Ch0rus MMDS, why are people waiting for the release of "TheBox-T"?
Does "TheBox-T" offer better performance or something? I cannot find any specs or manual which decribe the capabilities of "TheBox-T".

No mate,
Its just that you wont get a genuine 500T now only clones unless your very lucky and the 600T costs about 300 euro,
Where as the Box-T will be less than 200 euro.

Thanks wiz569,
But I have heard that the release of the "TheBox-T" keeps getting put back. We could be waiting for some time!!!
Also, if the "TheBox-T" is yet to be released, how does anyone know if it will unscramble ch0rus and/or ntl MMDS? Does it run the same images/keys as the DreamBox. (I'm a newbie, please excuse the novice Qs). Thanks

Thanks everyone for all you help soo far.
Using a DVB-T USB tuner connected to an antenna and necessary downconverter, should I be able to watch scrambled ch0ru$ channels?
Or would that just let me watch the fta channels? And would I require specific drivers and software to do this?

Sounds like most of you are big DreamBox fans, especially for it's auto-update ability. But isn't it likely that if I purchased a DreamBox now that I'd get landed with a clone? Do clones work just as well and/or do they have a limited life span?

Thanks glic83, the clone dreambox sounds very promising so. I guess there may be varying degrees of clone quality. Can you recommend a good website to purchase a dreambox 500t from (good quality & price)?
