Hi, first off thanks for having these forums, they're a great resource.

Every so often when i click on a folder, especially under my user name in documents and settings, the window will freeze. When I close it with task manager, explorer restarts, or at least everything except for my background disappears and then re-appears. I've tried your guide and other guides for removing malware and nothing has worked thus far. Spyware doctor detected something serious, but it was a demo version and wouldn't remove it. Unfortunately I closed the window without thinking, before I wrote down the name of the malware, and it was gone the next time I scanned.

I'm running a Toshiba Satellite M40, Pentium M 1.86 ghz processor, gforce go 6600 memory card, 512 ram and XP service pack 2.

Alright just to pass on this little bit of info, I have found that to get a free version of Spyware Doctor that can scan and remove to go to the Google Software Pack website and on the right hand side besides any other programs you may want to select "Spyware Doctor". It is a free version of Spyware Doctor that can both scan and remove spyware. But regarding HijackThis remove the following entries....
