Well, it doesn't really die, but it just becomes reaaaaaally slow. I could even have just ONE torrent, download/upload at 1/1 even and it's still slow. And yes, my ports are being forwarded.

Help?

Have you still got you're Upload speed set to 0 (Unlimited)!?

You can't do that. Set it to 80% of your total!

Try this, stop anything on your computer and run this...

http://www.speedtest.net/

You will get something like this...

This is mine. What you do is take that number and divide it by 8. That will give you the kB total that torrents use.

eg. Download: 6336kb / 8 = 792kB
Upload: 625kb / 8 = 78kB

Your Upload is the one to worry about, so 80% of 78kB is 62kB.

Set your Upload to 62kB

You following?

With this info you can work out how much Upload to allow for your connection.

Post back with you're results and I'll help you if you get stuck!

Well, the thing is that I could be uploading/downloading at just 1kb, or even 0kb and the connection just dies. Should I just try that anyway?

Are you on one of the blacklisted ISPs?

No. :( It doesn't always stay at 0/0 of course, sometimes it may rise, it's not like my ports are throttled...I don't think.

Upload speed should always be capped at 80% in a bittorrent client.
Having it higher will not only slow down internet access, but your download speeds on torrents will suffer.
There needs to be room for acknowledgement signals and other messages to get through.

You mentioned you had done port forwarding, so I assume you have a router.
Too many open connections in your bittorrent client can cause problems with routers and internet access.
What is your router make and model?
What do you have your max global connections set to in your bittorrent client?
Which bittorrent client are you using?
