Depends on how many IDE drives your board suports(I'm guessing there is no SATA). If you have enought free ports you can hook up two HDDs.

Very important, if the other hard drive has an operating system in it (you will need to delete it ). If you attempt to boot up a computer with two hard drives that have individual C: operating systems installed , very serious consequences can occur, including the possibility that both hard drives will be rendered unbootable.
As long as the other hard drive doesn't have an operating system, it will work fine in your computer, you can have up to 3 hard drives in a computer.Partition is only requiered on new hard drives.
The only thing to make sure is, if you have two hard drives on one cable, make sure one is jumpered to master and the other is jumpered as slave.
Some computers recognize new hard drive automatically, if yours doesn't, you need to press "delete" when the computer starts booting up. At the bios screen, usually the first line is where the hard drives are recognize. Press the IDE slot where the hard drive is located and press auto(to reinitialize).
