I am, right now, so frustrated about this problem that I can't even describe it.

The problem is that torrent speeds are very low. Upload is normal.

I have a 1.5MB DSL connection. My speed test results were normal. 1522kbps up, 162kpbs down.
I do not share my internet connection, I don't have a router, my ISP is not throttling, my firewall is disabled, no proxy, I have correctly limited my upload using the results from the test and the speed guide, I have tried many bittorent clients and many versions of those clients, I have cleared my computer out of any viruses, spyware, etc'. I have replugged and reinstalled my modem. I have given a friend of mine who has the exact same connection as I do and the same ISP a torrent (He also scored very similar in the speed test), he downloaded it on above 100kbps, I download it at about 10.

I have deleted norton antivirus + security from my computer since someone said it helped him, it didn't help me.

I have no idea what to do, any bit of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dear SyphooN
It doesn't matter about any thing apart from making sure that the torrent that you want to download has lots more seeders than downloaders. You can check this by (normally) looking to the right of the "click here to download torrent" page where they have all the numbers. Make sure that you always upload the torrent afterwards for what seems like forever so we can all download it as well.(sod global warming). Also buy a damn good download speed from some greedy person like Richard Branson(Virgin Media) or the like, de-clutter your computer regularly, and close down any any unnecessary programs. Then go and get a job so you can buy the stuff like a normal person. Ha Ha. Only kidding. Of course, because you are dealing with a computer it will never work apart from when you are not concentrating and it happens by accident. Really though I find that leaving the program you are using at its default settings and finding the right torrent is best. I have had 650kbs/sec regularly on the good ones. Good Luck. Baab.
