The site probably got closed down. I am say this because I assume the site is illegitmate and thus could have been easily shut down.

Don't bother with these sites, they never last long.

BitTorrent is the way forward, follow my simple steps to get yourself acquainted with it.

Get yourself a Bit Torrent client to be able to use BT protocol to file share:

BitCommet:

http://www.bitcomet.com/doc/download.htm

Azureus:

http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

uTorrent: -I reccomend this one-

http://www.utorrent.com/download.php

ABC [Yet Another Bittorrent Client]

http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/

BitTornado

http://bittornado.com/

To download using bit torrent you have to use .torrent files. Allowing you to run them and create a peer-to-peer link and to download your file(s).

Some good public BT tracker's:

http://www.isohunt.com

http://www.torrentspy.com/

http://www.mininova.org/

http://www.torrentbox.com/

You'll find the best stuff at private trackers, these sites are invite only usually. You need to receive an invite from someone on the inside to gain membership. You are not allowed to ask for invites at AfterDawn.Com.

Stick with public trackers for now, the list of them goes on really. Once you've installed your client just search for what you want in any of those sites and download the .torrent file. TomMelee's BT Bible will weed out any other info you need. This is available for download here:

TomMelee's BT Bible 1.2

http://www.plucky.org/download-central/p2p-tutorials/

That should cover everything needed for you to start using BT, there's plenty of other torrent guides and good threads regarding BT and other means of file sharing:

AfterDawn P2P forums

http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/18

They will provide a great source of information for you to get yourself in the know.

Safety is essential with stuff like this so look here.

Trust me/us if you downloaded all you wanted for $30 then it definetly as illegal and none of that money went to the artists/creators of the media.

Auslander is correct and I should have made note of such services in my post. Yes, there are legal services with a "all you can download for $___ a month" business model such as the new Napster and the Rhapsody music store. But again from the sound of things posted by you hoonta this site was more than likely illegal and that would be the reason the site is no longer online.

You think you've got your moneys worth paying for something you get for free? If that's the case the next time your out shopping and someone hands you out a free sample, shove a fiver down in their front pocket.

Oh and you have been ripped off!!!

I bet you anything the site that offered you this service was getting their files for free off of other p2p networks or something, so you were paying for illegal copies?

Apparently the people who run mp3 downloading com have quite a few sites where they charge for things that are free elsewhere:
