Hi, we got a DLink router, says Gamer's Lounge on it, DGL4300 I think. Anyway, I play BF2 and have the ports set for it, one of my roommates plays WoW and has the ports set for that. My other roommate plays some Star Wars online game and Second Life.

We also like to download sometimes and this is the problem. We each use Azureus to download/upload torrents. This is causing problems on the games so much that we often can't even log in to play, and also causes pings to shoot up very high at times. Sometimes we can't even use the internet if someone is using Azureus. That's why we got this router, thinking it would prioritize games and "unprioritize" torrents when active.

We set our max upload speeds to around 40KB total, and global total connections down to about 5 or 10 or something. It's not really working well though, still problems. We are on a 7Mbit down/512Kbit up cable line that is split 4 ways on the router. (Brighthouse cable)

Any way to keep the torrents going to be able to seed while not killing the rest of the connection for others in the house?

Also if you use uTorrent or something else besides Azureus, I'd switch if there's a way you've gotten good results with it.

That's quite a lot of bandwidth you're using. I'm not sure if your connection is fast enough to sustain all that at once, especially the upload.

I'm on a similar speed and there is only me, with no online gaming. You are using like 3 ionline games AND torrents...

Yeah I know, we're computer hogs with day jobs, but the computers we have aren't gaming and DL'ing ALL the time, just wondering if there's a setting to throttle down downloads as far as ports or some other means.
