if you are reading the thread you've obviously bought an "iwin" "mp4" player. let me start by saying, your a sucker you've been had.as was i. twice. i bought one for me and another for my girlfriend in lanzarote. both 2GB,one pink one white. 120 bucks happy days. off home up loaded some tunes couple of albums you know. went to play them.. no sound. and this was not a setting or anything.so cut my losses and said i'd use it as memory stick for all the world(get some value out of it) anywho battery went dead. proceeded to charge the thing.. you've guessed it... it would'nt charge. no way.not through usb. nor 12vdc adapter.it now sits pretty in a drawer along with old phones.. every ones got one!
second iwin's story.... basically the screen fell out smashed on the ground.. enough said..

please please do not buy one of these they are cheap, poor quality and terribly manufactured. spend an extra few bob on a nano or similar brand.
