I am trying to get new media to work since I was given a case of 50 Sony 16x DVD-R Media, 120 Minute / 4.7GB

I thought I finally had it, after the burn finished Nero reported "burn successful", but Windows cannot read the disk.

Unfortunately I did not save the log.

Has anyone seen this happen?

Thanks

You might just need a firmware update but let's take apeek at the log. Nero automatically saves them also. Here's a link on where to find them & how to post them - link

I don't know if my drive is later than yours or whether it's because it's got something to do with being a lightscribe but the version that shows as being the latest is 6.6.1.4 tho the actual installed version is 6.6.1.15 either way surely your nero needs updating sorry i can't be of any more help but for testing purposes it maybe better to use a RW disc so you don't end up making coasters,if the comp is'nt to old adding more ram would'nt hurt 256MB is a nightmare to work with...lol..

Not much wrong in the log except what scorpNZ pointed - more ram would be good if you can but probably not the reason the pc isn't reading the burned discs.

Are the Sony's the only ones that the pc can't read after burning them?
Have another pc you can try them in?

Strange, on another post someone told me to upgrade with this:
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

I'll find the latest version.

The other PCs I have do not have a DVD, only CD, so that is out. I plan on buying a new PC so I will continue to use 256 MB, though I have never had had problems before. These Sonys are the first media to fail.

Thanks to both of you replying.

I don't think updating Nero to the latest - 6.6.1.15 would make a diff on the drive being able to read the disc.
If these are the only discs that can't be read by the drive then I would chalk it up to not being compatible or getting a bad batch.
