Ok if I had 3.0GHz's and would that be 3000MHz's.

Then if I had 2.2GHz's would that go into 2200MHz's.

Is this how the GHz's and MHz's work?

mhz is a million hertz a second & ghz is a billion hertz a second. in north america, the electricity runs at 60hertz or 60 cycles a second.

Indeed, however, there is more to processor speed than mhz. For example a Pentium D 3Ghz is way inferior to a Core 2 Duo at 3Ghz, even though they are the same frequency and have the same number of cores (2) the core 2 is much faster because it has a better architecture.

Partially, Architectural is a "map" that basically connects all the transistors on the CPU to make it fully functional. But there is more
to it than just transistors and simple electronics, CPU's also contain
a powerful sub-chip known as a ALU (Arithmetic-logic-unit) It is the most powerful part of your system and is your computer's infrastructure.

No one can give you wiser advise than yourself.
