how about showing us a failed Nero log? this way we can see what went wrong! Usually found here:

Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.tx

Here is a log of a failed cd burn. i`m using Nero 6.6.1.15. I`ve been trying to acivate DMA but can`t find it on my computer going through to device manager>IDE ATA/ATAPI (no primary or secondary channel there). My computer is Windows XP Home Edition 5.1. service pack 2.

open up the log file. Press CTRL+A, then press CTRL+C to copy. Go back here and press CTRL+V to paste.

Sorry not working. The log file shows DMA off. Can DMA be activated in Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 version?

Thank You. When i go to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and double click on it i find NVIDIA nFORCE (TM) IDE Controller. Therefore as the fellow says he can`t help with NVIDIA.

Contacted Microsoft. It appears that this computer is customized and that is why the facility to activate DMA (primary channel/secondary channel)is not there. Maybe a technician to solve this one. Cheers
