Verbatim glossy +R's ...do they scratch as easily as Ty Glossys?

The Glossy Verbs in the link above...who has used these and do they scratch as easily as the Glossy Ty's? If you breath too hard on the Ty's they scratch and I'm tired of this happening. What is the comparison between the two as far as being shiny? Also, wouldn't the Verbs be better than Ty's since they are +R?

Those glossy verbs are probably reg hub.I couldn't locate any in the full hubs last week. Now the Taiyo Yuden watershields are full hubs.
Scratching? Which side,The top-printable side or the bottom?
The bottom of both ty and verbatim is made of acrylic layers.Plastic does scrach very easily.
TDK made a disc called the Rhino Disc that was suppose to be scratch resistant.

I use those Verbs and they are full hub printable, hole opening is 19mm compared to ty 22mm picture looks great, I like them better then the TY, as far as scratches, dont know about that, I take good care of mine after I do them, this is where I get mine, they have them in -r to

saugmon- So did Verbatim & maxell if I recall But I don't recall either of them being printables ? you already know that the best defense is a good offense ( Good dvd handling & care ) the best & chaepest insurance that your disc will play without problem ! & a good safet copy don't hurt either !Ciao!!!

When I meant "scratching" I meant on the printable side. The glossy Ty's are very easy to scratch and I wanted to know if the glossy Verbs are better as far as resisting scratches?

We don't "scratch" what we have produced unless we have a reason to do it.
If you want a comparison, buy some of the Glossy Verbs so you can give us your opionion.

My glossy TYs don't scratch... They get dirty easily though. I have laser printable TYs, not inkjet. I don't use Verbatim... I only have DVD+R DL from Verbatim and I won't ever buy Made in Taiwan Discs again unless they are dirt cheap (like $2 for 100)!!

Same here. I was wondering what is being done, that scratches the discs? If it scratches them, quit doing it. Do you have several out on the table or floor, instead of putting them back in their cases? Are you sliding them in and out of cd/dvd pocket holders (another reason to use dvd cases, instead of pocket holders). If you handle the discs right, they can't get scratched......

Having tested both the Verbatim Glossy Hub printables and the Ty Watershield DVD-R's here is what I found. Both can be scratched easily. What I don't like about the Verbatim glossy is that they have no protection from water at all. A drop of water on those will wash ink right off the printed surface. The outer 120mm edge of the Verbatim Discs print better than the Ty Watershield. The Ty's have a different coated edge than any other printable media I have used and can show a white unprintable edge even when set to print full 120mm. Those that have tried these will know what I mean. However, since the Ty's cost less and are water resistant I would favor the Ty Watershield printables. Both, however, produce a great looking finished product. Scratches have never been a problem for me either. A paper towel test wiping will scratch either of them quite easily, however. Ty Watershield discs - 60 to 70 cents per disc. Verbatim well over a dollar per disc with shipping. Both are high quality but pricing dictates its a no brainer that the Ty Watershield is the clear winner of the two.
