My Understanding
I am aware that any details you enter on to your pc can be traced and viewed if you are using a wireless router. Bank Details, Passwords, the lot.

My Situation
So I just recieved my bank card and considered ebay! enter my bank details and spend baby spend. Then I had reason to worry. I realised my pc is connected to a wireless router. I only live in a quiet street, where the chances are low of people hacking, but a chance is a chance. I have never entered bank details into a PC and would not know if what I am doing is safe

What I Would Like
I would like to minimize the threat of people hacking me and gathering my bank details and spending my cash what my bitches earned for me (joke). If you could tell me if it is possible to stop people accessing pc or any information you think I would like to know, dont hesitate to post.

Things You Should Know
- Yes, I do have a WPA key enabled
- The router is a Belkin G+
- I use PS3/PSP on router (Not sure how relevant that is but info is info)
- My bank details are...

...LOL just kiddin

Should be fine, as long as you have security on it... Also, make sure that you have a different password for accessing you router from the internet. For example, on a linksys router, when you go to 192.168.1.1, you have to enter a password to get into your routers settings, and most people leave that as a default, which is usually admin or nothing, and hackers can get into that and change all the settings... So make sure you have a different password.

You forgot the most important details, your bank details. We can't keep something secure when we don't know what we are trying to keep secure. You know what you can PM them to me so other don't see em lol.

Anyway like Waymon said you should be safe but if you don't change the default password to your router then people can still get in and change the keys. Also remember when you do a reset on a router the security info goes away and it changes to an open internet connection.

you should be fine, I check my bank details on my wireless pc all the time. Of course I have a firewall and intrusion prevention enabled so I am confidant I am safe. I have a mac filter on so I know who i let in through my wireless router.

Good luck and hope this makes you feel better.

Cool thanks reliable afterdawn members :).

I thought I would be safe, until I saw a programme on the tv. "The Real Hustle". and it showed that they could hack in to routers so I was like "oh damn". But I think I should be safe now.

Thanks for giving me the confidence :D.
