Virtualdub does nothing when i save the avi

Ive been trying to follow the divx 5.02 guide here at afterdawn and i run into my problem when it comes to the saving the file in Virtualdub. Ive installed everything correctly, at least everything acts correctly. It's when i actually try to save my avi following the guides steps that nothing happens. Meaning, when i hit save nothing happens, no save, no error msg, nadda! The save gui goes away and Virtualdub does nothing at all, anyone have this problem?
