Problems with PS2 movie playback.

I have some info on Playstation2 compatibility, and I also have a question.

1/ I know the original PS2 consoles DO NOT play DVD-R or DVD-RW (mine did not, so I sold it, and bought a shiney new one), the latest SCHP30003R DOES play DVD-R and DVD-RW disks.

Now for questions...

If I copy a DVD5 disk, using NERO's DVD copy, onto either DVD-R or DVD-RW, it plays fine in my PS2.

If I master a disk using files from my harddisk (VOBS), it does not read them (WinDVD does play them on my PC).

Is there something obvious I am missing here? I have tried ISO/UDF and ISO formats and DVD Video formats in Nero. Help!"!!!!

Did you use IFOedit to "get VTS sectors" ?
