DVD drive doesnt read DVD-R

HI

I have sony vaio model VGN-S5M/S and the DVD drive doesnt recognise 2 of the 3 finalised DVD-R's I have... It recognises 1 dvd but doesnt for the others of the same type! The DVD drive is MATSHITA UJ-832D and i tried deleting the upper and lower layers too as suggested in one thread... but it still doesnt work! PLS help....

Not the greatest drive - just my experience but they don't hold up to well. But 1st try switching the media. Just so you know. You can use the Search on top of this page and see what others say about the Matshita UJ-832D....there are a lot of laptops out there with the same drive! good luck.
