If it uses PhysX by AGeia, it may not be able to install on windows 64 because a 64-bit version of the driver is needed. Ageia may not have made one yet, or the game may not come with one. Windows x64 needs different drivers to 32-bit versions. Vista 64-bit is particularly bad because it doesn't support unsigned drivers - e.g. when in windows you normally get the "continue anyway" dialog box, that's not an option. Unsigned drivers aren't allowed.

so the only way to fix it is to install the 32bit window

Or track down a 64 bit version of the driver manually I suppose.

if it's unstable all of a sudden, I doubt it's the BIOS, I think you may just need to replace it.

So you want to anyway?
Make a bootable disc (CD or floppy) with your motherboard's BIOS update utility on it and then put the updated BIOS on there too. Boot from it, and follow the instructions.

From your motherboard manufacturer's website, IF they've posted one. If not, tough luck.

seriously, updating your BIOS really won't solve this problem. it's a fault, not a software bug.

I'd stick with a dual core for now, there have been advantages to having two cores since windows 95, you just couldn't do it back then. Even now, I wouldn't have use for a quad core.

Games only support single cores, or occasionally two. You simply can't run enough programs to slow a dual core down, not in a way that meant you need extra cores.

yes but clock speed hasn't been important for ages, look at how much faster a 2.66Ghz Core 2 is than a Pentium D!

why is that so...then why some games require 3Ghz cpu like Rainbow 6 Vegas...so you're saying that AMD 's new cpu are acceptable...
