what do i all have to have to burn playstation 2 games? do i need like a mod chip and if so where do i buy it from? and any certain programs i need...i have any dvd and clone dvd for copying movies...please let me know thanks
Yes & no to copy xbox-1 & 360 games, you need a particular model of samsung dvd-rom drive for your comp that has modified firmware which allows you to read the games properly for burning later, no other drive as yet works at reading the discs, once read you can burn with whatever drive you like, for realiabilty's sake your better off with a chip installed (do your homework chip vs other methods) besides using a chip allows you to run games from the hdd & use extender kits,as for burning software it don't matter what you use so long as it's relatively newish with regular updates along with a good quality burner DL drive
well, we don't have a samsung so were cool on that...we'll jus stick to the burning, lol. this is a very informative forum, found it from someone in the forum on the SuprBay...so yap thank u for the reply!
This is the drive i'm talk'n about it's not expensive & they're a piece of piss to fit better still install it in a External drive case & run it off USB it will come with all the necesary software that you need to make backups, you also don't need the most expensive chip for the xpox to run extra hdd's or just one big one,i'm waiting on a samsung at the mo while the xpoxes get chipped i can't wait to give it a whirl :D
ps: it's not that drives can't read the xbox games it's just that they don't have the right firmware is my understanding
Easy way to copy xbox games... Put them in your modded xbox.. ftp the disk contents across to your pc, then use cloneXB to make an xiso and burn to dvd-r.
360 games need you to hook up your 360 flashed drive to your pc and use it just like a pc drive, but with some software (easily available.. google for it cos I don't go telling people how to break protection on 360 games).. then add whatever security sector you need for your region and make an iso and burn.. sounds complicated but the longest part of the job is burning the damn disk.
All this stuff about buying that horrendously expensive old samsung drive and then flashing it with hacked firmware is outdated, unreliable and very hard to make working disks from... The method is based on the isodump procedure which came about from looking at the disks early on to see how they were put together.. Read some up to date guides instead of the December 2006 stuff on X-S
For ps2 games you can usually just copy them with any decent burning software. Alcohol is the preferred burning engine.. it has ps2 compatibility mode even.
