had the same prob.

now what i did (dunno if you have tried it )
was to MANUALLY down grade to ver1.5
then MANUALLY upgrade (I recomend m33-4 as its fixed plenty of my boot issues)

i dont know what it is about easy installers but they seem to cause greef.

hope this helps

1st off go the m33 route i have used both firmwares in question and m33-4 has really made life easy.

when i say manually i mean stay away from easy istallers and 3rd party uploaders.

i have had problems with naruto, monster hunter 2 and metal gear port ops and m33 sorted them all out in one foul swoop

This is how you can install 3.52M33 manually:

You can find the 3.52 M33 update files here: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=14167&catid=151

You will also need the 1.50 EBOOT and 3.52 EBOOT files. You can get these from the following sites:
For 1.50 :
http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-1.50-File-...d/163/catid/163
For 3.52 :
http://www.us.playstation.com/psp/downloads/systemupdate/pc.html

Ignore the instructions on the Sony website, just get the file from "Download procedure" step 3.

You will have to extract the 1.50 EBOOT file, but the 3.52 file is already extracted. Name the 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP and the 3.52 EBOOT to 352.PBP.

Firstly, open the "1.50only" folder and put the folders inside it (kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher%) into your ms0:/PSP/GAME folder, then run the program from your game menu.

Now take the M33CREATOR folder and place it on your PSP at the same location: ms0:/PSP/GAME/

Place both the 150.PBP and 352.PBP files into the M33CREATOR folder on your PSP.

Now disconnect your PSP from your computer and run the update. After it has finished it will have created another icon on your PSP, run this, after that has finished you will have firmware 3.52 M33.

Make sure your battery charge is above 75% and/or has a charger plugged in before you do the update.
This can always brick your PSP so you should be careful.

(+[_]%) 1: 2.60 > 2.80 > 2.81 >3.03 > 1.50 > 3.52M33 > 3.52M33-4 > 3.90M33 > 3.90M33-3 > 4.01M33 > 4.01M33-2 > 5.00M33 > 5.00M33-3

Don't download the 3.52 firmware from the PSP site. It probably has the new 3.71 firmware on it.

Follow the steps below. These steps are pretty much the same as what Ray92 has given.

First lets recover back to 1.50 so you can do a clean install. Here is the RECOVERY file. Download it then extract it. Place the RECOVERY folder that was extracted into the /PSP/GAME/1.50 folder. Now go into recovery and RUN PROGRAM AT/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP This will downgrade you back to 1.50.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Now follow the instructions below to update to 3.52 M33-4 (Make sure you update to 3.52 m33 first)

3.52 M33 HERE

3.52 M33-4 HERE

3.52 firmware HERE

1.50 firmware HERE

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder and the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher. It should run and say patched successfully and reboot back to the XMB.

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware. If it is then format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder that is in the update M33-4 into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

When you are at 3.52 M33-4 follow the below steps to get your ISO files working properly.

Make sure the title of the ISO is short.

Example:

Correct -- Fifa07.iso
Not Correct -- FIFA-07-[PSP][EUR][www.torrent site.com].iso

Now right click on the ISO file and choose Properties. Make sure the Read Only and Hidden box is unchecked and the Archive Box is checked.

Go into recovery mode (Hold R shoulder button down while turning on PSP)

Go to Configuration and press X. Then go to UMD MODE. Keep pressing X till your see Sony NP9660 NO UMD.

When it says the above go to BACK and press X

Now go to ADVANCED and press X then to ADVANCED CONFIGURATION and press X.

Make sure all the settings here are disabled.

Now go Back and EXIT out of recovery menu.

Now try the ISO.
