How do I encode with greater than 8000 kbit/s with Nero Vision 4?

I used to use Nero Vision 3, but had lots of problems with the transcoding process. It would often abort with a buffer overflow error. I decided to upgrade to Nero 7 with Nero Vision 4. I guess I should have stuck with 6.6 and Vision Express 3, because now, if I try to Burn a DVD using source material that is greater than 8000 kbit/s, it will re-encode the video stream (The source data from the Sony 403 DVD camcorder is at 9100 kbit/s).

The transcoding doesn't seem to go very well, the interlacing seems wrong and the frames are very jittery as a result.

Also, Nero Vision 4 seems to hang quite frequently during the (unnecessary) transcoding process, so it can take 2 or 3 tries before I get this unsatisfactory result.

Any advice out there?
