but I dont know which one to select
I have a laptop of HP Pavillion series : dv5118tx
OS : windows XP Home edition

This is the latest version of the original firmware for your burner (from what I could tell)..

All the other versions listed are specially modified firmwares for different purposes etc.

You should be fine with normal firmware.

Hi. Firstly, sorry, I posted the wrong link to firmware in my previous post. Ignore that, and if you downloaded it, delete it.

From what I can gather from the DB's site is that this is the latest version of your burner's firmware, released in July 2005!

Either it's older firmware or LG have stopped releasing updates for your drive.

As for the file you asked about, I don't know what version that is or if it's for your drive or not.. Flashing with the wrong firmware can often brick a drive, so if yours if still working then chances are it's OK.
