I don't seem to be able to find a DVD Burner that will Burn the DVD-ROM BOOKTYPE. Is it true that this type of optical drive is no longer available???
I use Nero Express to burn my DVD's. Since the DVD-ROM Booktype is available in the DVD burner OPTIONS page is there a way to burn a DVD+R so that DVD PLAYERS will think it is a DVD-ROM???
Neither of my PLEXTOR DRIVES burn the DVD-ROM Booktype and Plextor tells me that no one makes an OPTICAL DRIVE that Burns the DVD-ROM Booktype.
Thanks in advance to whomever knows these answers.

The folks at Plextor really should know this!
Take a look at this Booktyping FAQ from k-probe.com.
Try setting the booktype as shown in the guide there. You could use ImgBurn instead of Decrypter.

I use Lite-On LH-20A1L and LH-20A1S burners. These are sata burners so you need to make sure you get the right interface for your application.

Thanks for the info and the link. I thought I would let you know that last night I did burn a DVD-ROM with my Plextor PX-755SA that Plextor says isn't capable of burning a DVD-ROM. Here is what I did:
1. AnyDVD was active in my tray
2. I put a standard rented movie DVD in my PX-716SA
3. I put a BLANK DVD+R in my PX-755SA
4. I used NERO EXPRESS
5. I set the source and destination Optical drives as listed in 2 and 3
6. I set the OPTIONs dialog on AUTOMATIC (as in one of the instructions in the link you sent me)
7. I set up a TEMP folder for the ISO image on one of my hard drives
8. I hit the "GO" button or burn or whatever it is
9. I had turned off:
a. DVD high compatibility mode
b. power rec
Sometime later, the project finished burning successfully.
I checked the new disc and the original disc using PLex Tools Pro and
they both were listed as DVD-ROM, 1 layer and ISO 9660, UDF (v1.02).
Yippee!!!
I just wonder why supposedly smart people at great companies like Plextor feed such misinformation to us or are so uninformed about how this technology really works.
Now, that was a disc with only 3.96 gb of material on it. What happens if I am doing this with a disc that has much more than 4.37 gb on it???
Should I rip the data as an ISO using DVD Clone 2 and then try to burn my new copy with Nero Express??? Will that work??? By the way, the two Lite-On burners that you use no where is it stated in their specs that they burn DVD-ROM....only read DVD-ROM.
Thanks again.

Here is some more info that might be useful to others:
I had a DVD that is over 7gb of data on it.
1. I ripped it using CLONEDVD 2 set for DVD-5.
2. I had AnyDVD open in my tray.
3. I ripped the DVD as an ISO to one of my hard drives.
WHEN THE RIPPING WAS DONE....
4. I put a Blank DVD+R in my Plextor PX-755SA
5. I again used NERO Express to burn the new disk.
6. I set the Hard Drive with the ISO image on it as the source
7. I set the Plextor PX-755SA as the destination.
8. In the OPTIONS dialog I set the book type to AUTOMATIC
9. I set the burn speed to 6X
10. I clicked the BURN button and a half hour or 45 minutes later I had a DVD-ROM copy of the original disc that plays perfectly.
Great stuff this technology.....heh???
Thanks
