I saw a discussion or two and a number of sites that talk about Opera (the Web browser) on the DS. It would come on a cart you bought apparently as a self contained thing.
Couldn't decipher from all the pages I read as to whether it actually had a US release. I can't find it if it did.
Anybody know the fate or current status of Opera on DS?

I know a US release was planned, dunno if it has been yet or if it's a direct from Nintendo only item or anything.
There is a JPN version and a EUR version though, so you can get either of those.

yep you need a memory expansion pack. You can download OKIWi which is a free browser for NDS. (It's website is in spanish so this google translated link might help) http://translate.google.com/translate?hl...cial%26hs%3Dw9y
otherwise the site is http://okiwi.blogspot.com/
I have not tried it out for myself but i will be able to on monday(hopefuly).
I think there is some memory hack if you REALLY want to run the Opera browser without the memory expansion pack.

Download a few different ones on a PC and try them out. I use Opera on a PC (using it to post this) and it is my favorite. I also have Seamonkey, Firefox, and of course IE.
I'm not an expert but I think Opera is nice and fast, it seems to work well, it doesn't seem to use a lot of resources, it seems more secure, it is a lot more customizable. I just like it.
It has a thing called mouse gestures (you can set up a click and left drag of the mouse to mean "go back" for example) that will practically let you surf with just little flings of your mouse.
I think that would translate nicely on the touch screen of a DS.

Yeah, I'd also like to know if you can get flash on the Opera browser - also since opera is what i use on my Wii.
Is this worth the price?
