hey guys,

i got this nokia 6230 that's locked, help please

its registered to Cellcom Israel (network code 42502 i think)

IMEI is:

356629003341274

1. Insert a non accepted sim, most times it will show "Phone Restricted"
2. Press the UNDO option
3. You should see a box that says enter restriction code.
4. Enter the code given and then press (OK)

Enter codes WITHOUT spaces.
Press * 3 times fast for (p)
Press * 4 times fast for (w)
Press * 2 times fast for (+)

i do not have the phone with me but i will try it tomorrow.
chances are i hard-locked it in the past after trying more than 5 codes so this wont work. this is a little different, it says no sim and i cant do anything but enter characters, so i simply write the set of numbers and if it works it will say restriction off and if it doesnt it wont say anything, once i enter the code there isn't something i have to press like OK or enter right? thats one of the problems.. i guess i will have to take it somewhere to get it unlocked with that data cable because i tried quite a few codes in the past :(

ok, i just tried it and it said

"Cannot undo restriction"

does that mean i didnt enter it correctly or that the phone is hard locked?

When you have seen the message (Can Not Undo Restriction) or (Not Allowed), it means one of the following:

1.) You entered 5 or more wrong codes into your phone. Some models only allow 3 chances.

2.) The phone was bought off Ebay and the seller did the same as above. This may be why they sold it.

3.) You have browsed around looking at other peoples phones and assumed the code that worked for their model, would also work on yours. All IMEI numbers are different, which means every code for different phones will be different.

4.) You kept entering the same code over and over when seeing "code error" the first time. You should only enter a code ONCE!!

YOU ONLY GET 3 TO 5 CHANCES TO ENTER THE CORRECT CODE

figured.. i tried unlocking it a long time ago (its my sis' cellphone) but i guess overall it was more than 5, damnit :( guess ill go to some place with a data cable to unlock it
