DVD master versus primary

I installed a memorex DVD +/-R/RW drive on top of a already installed Lite-on Combo drive. The problem is that i dont know how to install which one as master and slave and when I look under device manager they dont show up under cd/dvd drives they show up under "unknown" and I get 2 Primary IDE Channel listings and 2 Secondary IDE Channel listings..when I click both of them they say they are in DMA Mode not PIO. The problem Iam having is are these set up right? and second question is that the Lite-on DVD Drvive is slow as molasses and wont copy on DVD Decrypter very fast or at all anymore. I have to use the Memorex to burn to the hard drive and then the hard drive to DVD shrink. Help !!!
