So this is what happened... I modded my xbox v1.3 or 1.4 with the x3 modchip back in january... worked great up until june... all of a sudden it wouldn't boot... so i selected a different bank and reflashed it and everything started working again... yesterday i found out that 40gb's were missing from my 160gb hard drive... so i decided to find out why... went into the bios menu and formatted drive f... then i figured what the hell why not format them all... so i did... now it won't boot to the dashboard and everytime i try to boot it just starts for a second, then turns off... it does about 3 of these before it starts fully and shows nothing on the screen... so back to stage one for me... im trying once again to reflash to another bank... only this time it freezes half way through the flash...

Oh and before formatting and the rest of it... i tryed booting slayers auto installer but it wouldn't... and this is the same disc that i used to install everything that was on my xbox before it broke.

can somebody please help me out here?... or at least give me a way that i can just start from page 1 and erase everything and start reinstalling everything...

Eddie

I'm guessing you are one of these "act first, ask for advice later" type guys...

Your Xbox can only see 137Gb, you need to the format a G:\

You have formatted all the drives now and have made a bollox of the modchip banks!

Personally I would just remove the chip, use an eeprom reader to get the eeprom, rebuild the drive and softmod it!

Modchips are old news!

i bought a mod chip and i want to use it... im not gonna justtake it out and throw it out the window... do you know how i can start over?... i do have hacked bios running on one of the banks and i know which one... i just want to launch slayers auto installer and erase and reinstall everything... i know slayers can do that but i cant get it to boot.

Obviously the banks aren't working, otherwise it will boot!

I believe there is a process of holding controller buttons to get the chip to boot into flash mode to get you running again. Do some research on your chip.

dude, your 3 startup attempts sounds like what they call christmas tree lights.A term used to describe a faulty chip or install.recommend checking your chip install or your traces on the motherboard.

Yes it does, chunkhead already told you - "Your Xbox can only see 137Gb" and when you buy a drive it will never be the exact size it is advertised as. ie. My PC's 160gb HDD is only 152.

From what i recall without googling it,your bios needs reflashing in order to pickup any harddrive over 130 gigs *thats fry your xbox stuff so dont sue me*,otherwise try installing a new xbox hacked dashboard with a G drive ,google that too....40 gigs is to big to loose if off a new HDD

space is used for your harddrive cache an other stuff which helps comps understand what they are 40 gigs is to big for that plus you could also have bad sectors in your HHD
