Okay. I have a fat psp running 3.51 firmware and a slim running 3.60. I want to upgrade my slim to 3.60 m33 and then to 3.71 m33, but I can't do so without a fat psp running 1.5. SO my question is, can I upgrade my slim to 3.60 m33 somehow still? Please tell me how, thanks!

Without the help of a PSP running custom Firmware or Firmware 1.50 on a PSP1001 (fat PSP), you are out of luck. Once you get one, use an old battery (PSP-Hacks is claiming Sony has released a new series battery that prevents us from flashing the batteries EEPROM) and create a Pandora Battery. Then use that to downgrade your old PSP to 1.50 and then to 3.71 M33. By the way ... PSP2000 (slim) can NOT run Firmware 3.71. 3.60 is currently the ONLY firmware, custom or official, that runs on the new PSP. Sorry.

There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

No, Psp Slim does run 3.71. I'm positive. Here are the directions to install 3.60 m33 on slim:
Quote:
Instalation:

The instalation is done using pandora battery and requires a fat psp with 1.50 or
custom firmware with 1.50 support to run a installer.
However once the memory stick installation is done, you can use it in whatever psp slim without
repeating the process again.

We want to thank C+D Team for having created Pandora and having opened the path to custom ipl's,
without which this cfw wouldn't exist.

Steps:

- Create a pandora battery and a pandora memory stick using the C+D team tools.
- Run the fat psp with the pandora memory stick inserted, but with a normal battery.
Copy the directories pandora_slim and pandora_slim% to PSP/GAME or PSP/GAME150.

- Download official sony firmwares 3.40 and 3.50, and put them in pandora_slim directory
with names 340.PBP and 350.PBP.

To avoid confussion: These firmwares are used ONLY to extend the memory stick pandora kernel.
NOTHING FROM THOSE FIRMWARES WILL EVER BE FLASHED ON THE SLIM.

- Run the program. It will quickly extract some prx's overwrting some of the pandora memory stick.

- Insert the pandora battery and the memory stick in the psp slim. It will boot. You won't see
anything on the screen, because that kernel doesn't support the slim screen, but it is OK, you
don't need a screen for the installation of 3.60 M33.

From here, you have 3 options:

- Press X to install M33. The process will last just few seconds, since the installer only
needs to install the M33 custom prx's and IPL. After the process is finished, the installer
will shutdown the psp automatically.

- Press L+R+triangle to uninstall M33 and go back to original 3.60. Note: this can't unbrick a
psp slim, it will just remove M33 ipl. There is currently no unbricker for the psp slim, but
we plan on doing one in the future.
After uninstallation, psp will be shutdown automatically.

- Press square to dump the PSP Slim nand. Watch out: you need 66 MB of free space in the
memory stick for this, otherwise your memory stick may end corrupted.

This option uses the team C+D nand dumper. When the memory stick orange led stops blinking,
the process will have finished, and you can either shutdown the psp, or use one of the two
previous options.

But what I'm wondering, is can I downgrade the fat psp to 1.5 using pandora's battery and still make my slim have 3.6 m33 using the slim battery? Or after I install the 3.6 m33 firmware on the slim, do I still need to use a pandora battery every time?

You need a Pandora Battery and Majic Memory stick to install M33-360 on a PSP Lite.
To MAKE the above you need a 1.50 or Homebrew enabled Phat PSP.
You cannot downgrade a Phat 3.51 without the Pandora battery and memory stick.
I suggest locating someone of this list close to you who can help you for free. Do NOT pay for this.

I can't meet anyone online. What if I used Pandora's Battery to downgrade the fat psp to 1.5 and then uninstalled the battery and then installed the slim one? Would that work?

the battery would work, but the memory stick would need to be recreated to work with the slim.

never buy the pandora's battery online. look for someone local to downgrade your fat psp, or you can send it to someone. but there is no way you, yourself, can create it without a 1.5/cfw psp.

Could I downgrade the fat psp with pandora and then unistall pandora and install the slim pandora with the fat battery?

if you're going to use one memory stick, then yes. but if you use both of them, then you won't have to format and recreate the magic memory stick. one would be for a fat psp, and the other would be for the slim psp. the slim magic memory stick will have different files than the fat magic memory stick.

the fat psp battery is the one that will have to be used for both. you can return it to a regular battery after you're done working on both psp's. just remember to save the battery eeprom.

you can use your fat psp battery pack and memory sticks, but you can only create the pandora's battery/magic memory stick on a psp with 1.50 or custom firmware. there is no other way around it.

you said that you can't do an online meet with someone, so you'll have to look for a friend with a custom firmware psp.

pandora's battery will downgrade all fat psp's, regardless of what firmware.

for the psp slim, it is used to install custom firmware, but not downgrade to 1.50

one thing I dont understand is the key 5 which is unpatched during 3.71m33 upgrade and ta-082 mobo will brick with unpatched key 5 if it is downgraded to original 1.5fw. So, does it mean the DOWNGRADE371M33bySamhain has already take care of this thing.
