I am using Utorrent and have noticed when I start a download, some files will say "Checked 0%" under the status tab. Under seeds and peers it will have 0/44 and 0/455. Then some of the time the percent will increase by .1% until it reaches 100% then it starts a download.

I don't understand what it is checking. The files I am downloading have a ton of seeders and leechers when I go to P1rate Bae, what is this checking stuff! These files are very popular and a lot of people have them but it isn't connecting for some reason.
