Ive looked around for guides on the internet and but it doesnt really help cause some are different and some are outdated.. anyways what im asking is how exactly do i install my current sound card.. im trying to install a ct4780 because the current one i have is an onboard "sound card"(its not really a sound card from what i see), so when i was looking at the guides i saw that your suppose to connect the cd-drive to the card and read that maybe you have to disable your current card(thats where im stuck)
basically im asking if am i suppose to uninstall my current "sound card" that came with my pc cause it might have "conflicting" drivers, and also when i put in my new sound card, where exactly is my cd-drive cables on my pc...
here r the cables i think are suppose to connect to sound card:

if any1 sees them, tell me

Heres the card im trying to install:

Shove the sound card in one of the white slots at the bottom.
You don't need to connect the CD Audio to the sound card if you have Windows XP or later, you only needed that for the old 'cd player' application in Windows 98.

ok it worked thnx, i just have 2 minor problems
1. When i click on audio settings, it goes to my old sound cards driver, i have to go to advance properties to be able to change sound settings with my current card, is that ok?
2. Sound isnt coming from my middle speaker, i think because when i was setting up the sound driver, it asked me something about usinng 2 or 4 speakrs, there wasnt an option for 5 speakers, is there a way i can make that middle speakers work?
Edit: im using logitech x-530, 5 speakrs, 1 sub(middle speaker not working)

first, you should blow out your case with some canned air. Hit your CPU fan and Power supply unit fan.
Try going into your setup (DEL when booting) and disabling the onboard sound. Reinstall drivers just to be sure, then plug everything in.

So all except the center speaker works?
What programs have you tried? A lot of stereo programs (such as playing mp3 files and some older games) will only copy the sound to the rear speakers, not the center as well.

That is one dusty case. Invest some time into cleaning it.

nuhkka, in the picture that shows the cpu heatsink fan assembly, you have 3 capacitors on the leftside of cpu with brown tops, those are domed & leaking. also 1 domed cap just below the cpu heatsink fan assembly. can be causing you problems now or in the future.
