to play games (psp games im assuming) on your memory stick, all you have to do is
1.connect psp to pc
2.go to my computer and open up ur memory stick
3.when u you have opened it, make a new folder and call it "ISO"
4.download games and put it in the "iso" folder, make sure the game extension have .iso or .cso

Cheers for that mate. how do i know what games have iso or cso. I have tried to run the games from the disc to my psp doing exactly this way and it comes up game corrupted. But to be honest i am more or less certain that my 4gb memory stick is fake. Would this also cause a problem or could these games not be iso or cso

PSP games have to be ISO or CSO (That's excluding DAX but just forget about it, no games will come as it).
What do you mean by:
Quote: I have tried to run the games from the disc to my psp
You've tried to rip UMDs onto your memory stick to play them? If you've used a homebrew application to rip a UMD it will probably be as two separate files (Well, one file, one folder). You will need to recompile this into an ISO by using a program called UMDgen (Search for this on google).

I bought a couple of discs with games on them and i tried to transfer the games onto my memory stick. I ran the disc on my pc copied one of the games then pasted it in the iso file on my memory stick. i then tried to play the game but it read game corrupt. What is wrong. could it be the *fake* memory stick or am i doing something else wrong. I am desperate to get this right. I bought half a dozen discs each with between 3-6 games on them. Besides the games on the disc there is an extra file, it reads a little different on each disc but its something like *devhook* do i have to do something with this file first. This is doing my head in

First things first, DevHook is old, only used for 1.50 (Or 2.71), so just ignore it.
Can you give me an example of a game you copied over? (Including file extension), because at the moment i have a feeling you've just copied over a RAR file (This is like a ZIP, it needs to be extracted), use WinRAR for this job.

A file extension is basically the format that the file is saved in, eg: With PSP; iso or cso. With other things; jpg, xml, exe...
What i mean was, you've transfered game files from the disks you have, to the ISO folder on your PSP. What are the extensions for these files? (Most likely either iso, cso, or rar)

Ok, if you can't see anything after the file name then i'm guessing you have "Hide file extensions" tured on. In the folder view, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View, then uncheck the box with "Hide extensions for known file types" and then tell me what it says after the full stop at the end of each file.

Then when i click on this i am asked to choose a programme to open this file. I have seen this kind of file before i think its a DAT file!!!!!!! what i can't open. Hope this makes sense

Keep with the .iso, the reason you can't open it is probably because you don't have any programs that can read/extract them, or don't have that file type associated with them.
So, the .iso file needs to go into your ms0:/ISO/ folder (ms0 = memory stick drive letter), if it shows as corrupt, it could be because your card is fake, but it shoudn't.
Also, to check if your card is indeed fake, hover over Memory Stick in the Game menu, press triangle, go into Information, what does it say next to "MagicGate"?

It says unknown. Which probably means fake. But this memory stick does save games with the umds. With regards to a programme to read/extract these files, would it be possible for you to direct me to a programme to download that could read/extract. Then i can try again

Yes, that means it's fake, use WinRAR to extract them, not that you'd want to, since you can access the actual .iso without it.

Do you know what torrents are? You can get PSP game downloads from any torrent sites. (If you don't know, search google)
As far as a guide, once it's downloaded, just extract it if it's a RAR, and drag and drop it onto your PSP (ms0:/ISO/).

You have one of 3 options:
1) Upgrade your PSP to 3.50 and downgrade it with the Lumines UMD
2) Downgrade it with a Pandora battery that you've made on a CFW PSP (From a mate for example)
3) Buy a datel tool battery or phisically modify your own battery (Requires good soldering skills)
After you've picked the route you want to go down, it'll tell you more about it, and after you've got to 1.50, how to upgrade to a custom firmware (Most likely 3.52 M33) to run your games without using the disks.

Ok, brilliant, yes, i was refering to the Lumines UMD game, ok, so, here's how to downgrade (Ask if you have problems):
Files Needed
3.50 Downgrade files
1.50 UPDATE
Optional files
3.50 UPDATE
Have your battery at 75% or higher and your charger plugged in during this Guide.
1. Update to 3.50. (Make sure to rename it to EBOOT.PBP)
- Place the EBOOT.PBP in X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE
- Run the update from the Game menu
2. Open the 3.50 downgrade file (350dg.zip) and copy the psp folder to the root of your memory stick. Example Image
3. Open the 1.5 update zip and rename the EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP then copy it to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
Make sure not to overwrite PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
4. Load the Lumines UMD, and as soon as it gets to the Press START screen, press START.
5. It should get to loading save game, clear the screen, the screen should fill with a light blue color and then reset the PSP
(If this does not happen see below)
6. Check that HEN is running by going to system settings then System Information and it should show up as system version 350 HEN
7. If it is showing up as 3.50 HEN then go to the Game menu and run the UPDATE X.YZ
8. Before the Downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask for you to agree to what it is doing
If you no longer want to continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).
9. Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the PSP
10. Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, after pressing it will reset it self. (If it don't reset press O instead)
11. If a blue screen (BSOD) comes up saying that the settings are corrupt press X or O to continue.
12. Enjoy the new 1.5 PSP
Guide by Brad. on qj.net (Some minor modifications by me)

Ok, now even more brilliant instructions :)
You'll want to be upgrading to 3.52 M33 (And install patch four, if you want, then up to 3.71 M33, if you want) i think 3.52 M33-4 is still the best firmware so ya:
Here you can find the 3.52 M33 update files.
You will also need the 1.50 EBOOT and 3.52 EBOOT files. You can get these here and here.
You will have to extract the EBOOT files. Name the 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP and the 3.52 EBOOT to 352.PBP.
Firstly, open the 1.50only folder and transfer the two folders kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% onto your memory card at ms0:/PSP/GAME/
Now take the M33CREATOR folder and place it on your PSP here, like above: ms0:/PSP/GAME/
Now place both the 150.PBP and 352.PBP files into the M33CREATOR folder on your PSP.
You can now disconnect your PSP from your computer and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher, then the 3.52 M33 Update. After it has finished it will have created another icon on your PSP, run this, after that has finished you will have firmware 3.52 M33.
Make sure your battery charge is above 75% and/or has a charger plugged in before you do the update.
