Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz

Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B08

Ive tried a few different routers and I also have a Hp laptop and it worked fine all the time with every router. any help would be great.

Hello, wlltigger:

First, check to see that you have all the latest Apple software updates installed. (Pay particular attention to any AirPort-specific updates.)

Second, go to Preferences > Network: Location = Automatic, Show = Network Port Configurations. Then, make sure that "AirPort" is checked AND at the top of the list. It may also be a good idea to uncheck any Port Configurations that you never use.

Third, go to Preferences > Network: Location = Automatic, Show = Airport. Click the "AirPort" tab (below "Show"), and select By default join: Preferred networks. Add your Wi-Fi network to the box by clicking the "+" button. Then, click on the "Options" button on the bottom of this same window and select "Enable interference robustness."

Click "OK" and "Apply Now" and you should be good to go.

Good luck.

It is normal for the connection to drop when you close the lid. Apple has decreed that all laptops MUST go to sleep when closed. If you are looking for a solution to this try the freeware InsomniaX, which allows the comp to stay running closed.

As for the not being able to connect, I had this problem with a Linksys router at work and the only way to get it to work properly was to disable encryption... Hopefully david's suggestions work
