Im using Azureus Vuse(version 3.0) to download torrent files, but Ive heard that the Azureus 2.5 is better... Is this true?

If it is then why Is Vuse not as good. Im quite new to this so I would appreciate any suggestions put in the simplest of words..

Cheers.

All the versions can be found here:

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/p2p_so...rent_client.cfm

Why not try both and see which one you prefer.

Oh my god!!! I didnt know there was that many version of azureus. A few more question I would like to ask....

1. What does it mean by beta?
2. If I was to download an older version of azureus and uninstall the new one, could I still keep my seeding files and ratio and use them in the older version???

My ratio is 7.4 and I would like to keep it as Im trying to build it.

It is a test version that people can use, but is not considered stable.

As long as you keep the .torrent files and the data files there is no problem in switching versions.
You could keep your ratio by keeping the Azureus folder in AppData.

I find that the 3 series of Azureus is superior to the 2.5.
I get better speeds, use slightly less memory and about the same CPU.
I also have found quite a bit of good material on Vuze and get incredible speeds there.
I would say to stay with what you have or if you update, do it through Azureus to keep your settings and ratio.

Thank you v much jeffw224. I am using the veus version3.0.4 right now. Is that the best version out there? and I do find that most torrents download really fast with this version. And if you say to stick with it, then I shall. Thanx again

3.0.3.4 is the last version available through the developers website.

http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php

...and 3.0.3.5 beta is available, I don't see a 3.0.4 anywhere.

I have 3.0.3.4 myself. So I would say stay with that.
Anything after 3.0.2.0 is what I consider a better Azureus (less memory use/better speeds). Azureus Changelog
