Hello. After going through the update to the latest M33, I tried to install a new theme on my PSP, it failed. I made a backup of my flash0 drive before hand, I deleted everything in my flash0 folder, then pasted my backup flash0 back into my PSP via Recovery Mode. I restarted, and no go, nothing would load. I went back to Recovery Mode, enabled USB, put in the Recovery program and loaded it. I got an error that the recovery couldn't format the flash0 folder, but it went through with the program. I rebooted and nothing. I rebooted again with R tigger down, and no recovery mode either.

When I power on my PSP without the R button held down, the screen does not power up at all, when I do WITH the R button held down, it "lights" up, but is still completely black, no recovery mode.

Is there anything I can do?

the green light turns on? Also, does the main screen get lit up and stay black?? or does it stay black and stay black?? if it lights up a little bit and stays black, it's just a semi brick. But you been into recovery mode before and since you cant get into it. It is most likely a full brick. Your only chance is making a pandora battery. You first need an extra psp with custom firmware on it to actually make the battery. Sicdude has a tutorial in bold on the top of the
'mod and firmware discussion' to help you with unbricking. If not, you can purchase a service on ebay for as low as 10 dollars.

You seemed to have bricked your PSP not the Recovery.

I really wished people would read and learn how to correctly backup flash0 files on 3.71 M33/M33-2.

Everyone is in such a hurry to flash a custom XMB and don't take the time to find out how to do it properly.

1st off make sure the theme your trying to flash is 3.71 M33 compatible.

2nd you need to backup your flash0 properly.

3rd if your using the RECOVERY folder that recovers 3.52 or lower CFW then your using the wrong RECOVERY folder. HERE is the correct RECOVERY folder for 3.71 M33 CFW.

Now for some help...

You will need to do what DEVINRL has suggested. Create a Pandora Battery to recover the PSP (you have a full brick its the only way to unbrick it).

After you recover and get back to 3.71 M33/M33-2 follow the below steps to properly back up your flash0.

The correct way to backup 3.71 M33/M33-2 flash0 files is by enabling flash0 via Recovery Menu.

When the flash0 window comes up on the PC go to Tools> Folder Options> View Tab>...

Tick the radial that says (show hidden files and folders)

Untick the box that says (Hide Protected Operating System files).
Click on Apply then OK.

Now drag the flash0 files over to PC to back them up (Make sure the steps above are also done when recovering your flash0 files).

Make sure the theme is 3.71 M33/M33-2 compatible. Don't flash your XMB via VSH menu or you will semi-brick.

actually, when i went into recovery a couple of weeks ago, i exited recovery and rebooted, and i had a black screen, and a green light. Also , whenever i entered recovery, my psp froze. what i did was take out my memory stick and rebooted, and it was fine. i dont know if that helped though, since i think the problem was a non-compatabile plugin

It could be your NAND. What m33 were you on. 3.71m33-1/2 can break your nand when writing flash0/1/...
