Hey folks. Got a question for you. Is there any such thing as an external hard drive enclosure for a SATA drive with Firewire? I see all sorts of enclosures that go from SATA to USB 2.0.

And, yes, I know why you are going to ask why I want to do this. Here's why? It doesn't fit inside my case very well and I kicked it before and broke it. I sent it off and had it replaced and I really want to hook it up to an external enclosure.

Thanks folks and any idea are appreciated.

if you've got Firewire 800 and can find a box that supports it, then great, but if only firewire 400, you may as well just use USB2.
Have a browse through this list:

I probably will in the end. Just figured I'd ask and see if you had any opinions before I jumped to conclusions.

Well I use e-SATA where I can, and USB2 if not...

And I wish I had the e-SATA option. Anyway, what I do in college deals a lot with video editing, and for some reason, USB doesn't work real well with editing to a drive connected with USB. That's why I was looking for Firewire drives so I can convert this one to a video editing drive.

Fair enough, I know firewire 400 enclosures exist. Look for ones by IcyBox, they're usually quite good.
