hey, I usually stick to the Wii forum but I came over here to tell y'all something. I am not sure if this has been done yet "probably has", but instead of doing the normal dual boot I modded my computer so that it has a toggle switch in the rear that you can flip when powered down and it will load two totally seperate PCs, no duel boot software needed. If any1 is interested in trying this just let me know and I will make a guide. All you need is to seperate hard drives and a computer with SATA cables.

Sounds useful, but what's wrong with a normal dual boot? :D

well, im not a computer wiz so I'm not really sure how restore dates are stored but I'm guessing this will solve the vista XP system restore problem that I read about.

I mainly like it better because it's like having a secret computer that nobody even knows is there. You don't have to worry about anybody messing anything up. Just let them do whatever on the "public" computer then flip the switch.

That's true. I take it that could be a problem for you then?
I must admit, I like the idea. I may even be tempted to try it myself at some point.

Nice idea, but what happens if someone flicks the switch while powered up? A more fail-safe solution would probably be Grub, but have it password protected and hidden with a default boot option. But hey, if it works for you and other people use it, good stuff.

Edit: Another advantage of using Grub is that you'd be able to mount the "public" drive under your hidden one and share data like music etc without needing to make copies of it. I guess you could simulate that functionality by having the toggle switch on just the hidden drive, and having the BIOS boot order to try the hidden one first, then the backup.
