Nero 8 could not perform start of disc-at-once

I get the error "could not perform start of disc-at-once" when I try to burn particular types of files to a DVD-RW. I can burn DVD videos and discs containing MP3's fine. If I try to burn a disc containing only Xvid videos I get the error.
I'm using Nero Burning Rom v8.1.1.0. The O/S is Windows XP SP2. The burner is an LG GSA-H42L. The motherboard is an Abit AB9 Pro. Discs are Datasafe Datawrite 2x DVD-RW.
I had no problems using Nero v7.
Any ideas???

That's strange, as Device Mgr tells me that DMA is enabled for all four IDE channels.
