Hi guys,
I have a Dell Dimension 4600. I recently installed a Maxtor DiamondMax 21 16MB Buffer 7200 RPM as a slave, and when I try to transfer data from the Maxtor to the computer, it takes very long to transfer a gig of data. It can take up to 30 minutes to transfer 4 gigs of data. I have another computer with two drives, and I have never experienced this before. what is going on? Thanks!

That sounds a little long to me, although it is going to take a long time to transfer that much data.

But it does not take that much time on my other computer.

Does the other computer have the same specs as the one that you think is slow? How fast does it take for a 4 GB transfer on the other computer?

It has about the same specs. It stakes a lot less than 30 minutes to transfer 4 GB, and I am sure of that! Maybe is because I have a Seagate, I don't know!
