Hello anyone who can help! I have been using DVD Shrink with Nero 7 for a while now and its has been fine to backup dvds. But now I cant burn anything and just keep wasting discs grr. Dont have a clue how to fix this, I have been searching different threads but cant seem to find an answer. If someone could help me I would be SOOOO GRATEFUL!!! Here's what I get when it fails...

Nero thinks you are using two different versions of their software, visit the Nero website and use the clean tools for both versions, then run Ccleaner and reboot and reinstall the version (one only) that you want to use...make sure you keep your serial number for the reinstallation.

You've got plenty of memory, but not much left for burning. Cut the multitasking to a minimum as it may cause errors.

the biggest thing here is:

your media is not being recognized by Nero or your burner!! you must have changed media from the last successful burn! Use better media! Made in Japan media is best! Taiyo Yuden is all I use..... next would be Verbatim....the ones made in Taiwan/Singapore.... stay away from the ones made in India!

there is a better version of Nero 7.... 7.10.1.0........
Save your serial # then uninstall Nero!
Use the cleaning tools:

Ok, thanks ppl. But it failed again. I did defrag, cleanup nero used ccleaner, reinstalled nero 7 and tried again, but now I got...

I didnt update firmware cos I went into site and there are heaps of diff ones? Didnt know which to do. Any hints? Speak to me like a simpleton!!! :) Eagerly awaiting response... Thanks!

it seems you still have two versions of Nero working on the same computer....... so you didn't use Nero Cleaning tools to get rid of Nero version 6.3.1.4!!!! not good!

Ok feel like im going crazy! I downloaded the Nero General Clean Tool and wiped what I thought was everything, personal settings etc. Then did ccleaner and reinstalled Nero 7 but it still says interface is 6? What the? Is there any way I can tell this before I reinstall again! or before I try to burn? Oh and I downloaded firmware recommended too..

The best way to uninstall it is uninstall it the normal way i.e. in control panel then run the Nero clean tool then use ccleaner to clean the registry then reinstall Nero restart computer ant time it ask during the process

Also this error is usally associated with poor disk quality what brand are they

Hi ppl, yes its me again. I have reinstalled nero 7 four times now still to no avail! I uninstalled via control panel, used ccleaner, nero clean tool x2!, checked in dvd shrink after i uninstalled & it said need to install nero, did a search for any files/folders containing anything nero & deleted everything! Have updated firmware. Just reinstalled nero 7 but didnt deselect anything so did full typical install. Still the same prob?! What is going on? Plus, the only way I can tell if I still have 6 as the interface? is by doing a full burn & wasting another disc - pile is building up this is ridiculous. Someone out there must know the answer plz plz plz! & thanku for putting up with me! but really need a hand thanks! This is log if it helps?...

To remove all traces of Nero 6, then you have to run the Nero 6 Clean tool..... http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html
2 things, your logs do not show the brand of discs you are using...this is pretty standard for this version of Nero 7....what is the brand also you are burning at 8X...slow your burn to 4X
