I installed the New Nero 8 version yesterday, and when i went to use my cd/dvd drive it would reg and disc's. I check the Driver and it's giving me a Error 39 message, i tryed to install and new driver and it said new driver could not be installed.
Can anyone suguest a fix for this prob. My Tech knowladge is limited.
Nero is probably interfering with it, try uninstalling nero and see what happens
lets try booting into safe mode and longing in as administrator (password:none), then load the device manager right click my computer>
properties>hardware tab>device manager>cd-rom drives and uninstall it, then reinstall it (it's suggested to reboot back into safe mode and install it).
If it still doesn't work i would ("i would") disable the drivers and turn of windows, open my computer check for any connect flaws in the 48 pin connector/ATAT/SATA or the cord connected to your drives to put it bluntly, and then start windows. you will probably be prompted to install drivers for newly discovered cd-rom drives, if your not then go to the control panel (category view) and select "printers and other hardware" then "add hardware" (to the left of the window), your drive will be picked up and the driver installed for it.
If this dosn't work then do a system restore point to before you installed nero, when you installed nero it probably made one for you right before it installed it's self,

please provide me with the brand and model number of the drive that is not working, also your os and processor (mycomputer>properties>general tab), the more information you provide the better we can assist you.
