I'm in the need for an inexpensive dvd player which will have no problems playing Taiyo Yuden media. I purchased a few low cost players 'then returned them' after discovering they won't play many of the writable dvd media discs such as Taiyo Yuden.

I'd like to know what dvd players (inexpensive) the group members are using to play back their dvd backups recorded on Taiyo Yuden. Phillips had a dvd player for about $50.00 but I don't recall the model number. Thanks.

update:

I just read reviews from epinions.com about the Phillips DVP3140 and the Philips DVP3960. Both claim to have the capability of reading most dvd+-r media. Does anyone own either of the two players that can verify this?

I own the Philips 5960/37 Upconverting DVD player. I paid $59 for
it. Like it so well I purchased a second one.
It plays every brand disc in both + and - that I have put in it. It
has many features that I really like. It has all connections including HDMI. It also has a USB connection.
