DS With Broken Top Screen

Hey,

i broke the top screen of my DS by dropping in so i replaced it. the problem is now that when the DS turns on, it wont display anything on the top lcd. the backlight turns on though.

has anyone come across this before? and can any help me out with trying to get it working?

make sure all the wires and such are connected correctly with the top lcd screen.

i have disconnected and reconnected them about 50 times, i dont think it is the cables. could it be something else i damaged when i dropped it that is stopping it from working properly?
