DS Homebrew Wireless issues.

Hi, i searched the boards and the net for an answer, but no luck, so now im making a post.

I have a DSLite, M3 DS Simply (Firmware Ver. 1.07).
Original DS carts and ROMS work perfectly fine when connecting to the net, but homebrew apps don't.

They either freeze or, in the case of DSLinux, it says it can't connect.

Beup dont work, AIMDS dont work, Colors! dont work, ect.

Heres my relevent system specs.

NetGear DG834G
Broadband at 4Mb's (total download speed of 500KB/s)

if you need any more info, then i'd be pleased to tell you. (i know my way around computers no prob, so don't worry about confusing me. lol)
any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
