Hi, I want to back my programs so I can format the hdd I have a virus I can't get rid of, when I go into nero to do a backup the program I want to backup shows just a few kb I'm getting the backup from my desktop, I have Sony Vagas which 175,00MB its look like I'm just getting the short cut of the program can please tell you me how to backup a full program

do you have the disc for vegas? also you can probly get rid of this virus with AVG free edtion

You can not make a backup installation disc from the prgram files on the PC.
You need a copy of the files on the installation disc.

I don't have an installation disk I downloaded it, in my programs
I have the self-extracting packager,the icon has a picture of a PC, disk, and a box.

well you can put the self extracting package on a disc i guess

Yes that should work.
To copy, don't drag the icon on the desktop, that just copies the shortcut.
Open the folder or right click on the icon.
