i have an old computer and it only has the cd read and write. i was wondering since i have an extra slot and i want to know if there are drives that just support DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-RAM, and not CD/RW.

No. All retail DVD writers will also burn CDs as well. I do not understand why you asked this.
