There is nothing really wrong in the log.
The writer is old and is using old firmware.
The Sony disc are good but in my opinion using 16x media is a problem.
Snice you are burning at 4x, get some older type media.
Is this a Gateway PC?
There is a Ga04 firmware update for a Samsung TS-H552B (Gateway OEM).

If it is from Gateway check with them for an update.
There are some things in the log you may want to think about.
You have the minimum amount of memory.
Add some if you can and be careful not to run other programs or services while burning.
The 4465MB limit on the DVD size pushes the edge of the disc.
Where the dye may not be a best.
I use 4400MB as a limit. Many recommend 4300MB

thanks i will try those out. its not a gateway cpu its an emachine. so will the firmware update still work?

It may, but if it does not it could mess up the drive.
New writers are pretty cheap these days, so I would give it a try.
The choice is yours.
You could try some other media. It may just not like the Sony media.
I use Ritek Ridata 8x and the work well in my old LG.
