When backing up movies in VIDEO_TS Video mode with duplicate main titles, such as theatrical and unrated versions, or tv series when each show is a chapter but also has all the episodes as its own chapter (taking up unnecessary space). In order to preserve quality I use "custom" from the drop down menu after selecting the VIDEO_TS folder. But any change to the "Main Movies" section changes "Menus: No." What gives!? I have been frustrated with this for over a year of using it and have searched endlessly for answers but cannot figure out how to select or deselect chapters while preserving all menus. Back in the day, I could do this easily with DVDshrink and DVDclone on my windows machine and even choose the compression for the extras and movie separately... Can Toast do this, if not any app for Mac?

No I still haven't! I can't believe that no one misses the ability to separately compress the menu's, extras, etc. or to pick and choose without loosing the menu (a very small file). I want to compress the extras the most being there not as important or also having the option to delete the extras and keep the menu. Has anyone used DVDshrink back in the day? It could do that and for free!

Tell me about it! I've been doing that in Windows for years. I got a new Mac for Christmas and it just blew my mind that this technology wasn't out there yet.

Compression? According to this ars technia article:

Mac users score high on perfectionism, and as perfectionists they probably burn their DVD's without any compression to DVD5 or DVD9 to ensure optimal quality. Just a thought.
