Did it boot up the first time after you installed XP and then failed to reboot on a subsequent boot?

Maybe the hard drive is bad. Why did you have to install the OS again?

My advice is to download the demo of "paragon justboot corrector", burn the iso to a cd, and use the cd to bootup the computer. Now look at your system drive and verify that it has the correct drive letter. It should be c: drive. With windows xp, the drive letter has been known to get changed around causing the drive not to bootup.
