Today i got a new hard drive for my ipod, I put it in but itunes wouldnt restore it, everytime I clicked restore it would load but the ipod would always go back to the do not disconnect icon then itunes would again say I need to restore it.

I also tried formating it through windows. It stayed black and white, and didnt load the menu until i formatted the drive with HPs disk formatter, now its in colour and looking more like the ipods default screen, also it now shows the menu.

Though the menu loads when its not plugged in it still asks me to restore every time i plug it in, I try formatting through windows, nothing, and restoring through itunes but it always goes back to the do not disconnect screen.

Any ideas as to how to make this work?
